Dear Community,
I am pleased to let you know that Chochmat HaLev is posting the job description for our new Spiritual Leader this week. We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring person who resonates with our unique, celebratory, musical and contemplative practices. We seek a leader who can guide us to create an inclusive, loving practice, making it relevant to our lives, as we move together into the future.
Your Board of Directors has been in a careful process of discernment about how best to allocate our financial resources moving forward.
The Search Committee has now been given the green light to post the job description which is informed by what we heard from you – the community – and your priorities for spiritual leadership. You can read the job listing on our website.
After the High Holy Days, the Search Committee will review the applications we have received and will interview candidates. Then the community will have the opportunity to meet the best candidate(s) during a Shabbaton later in the year.
Chochmat HaLev is a jeweI of a community: a place where many have found a way into Judaism that feeds their spirit. I am confident that we will continue to thrive going forward and to provide a Home for your Jewish heart.
Rosh HaShana is early this year: beginning on Monday evening September 6. I’m looking forward to seeing your shining faces on zoom as we bring in the New Year together. Please invite your friends and family to join us – zoom makes it possible for people to attend from afar. I also hope to see you in-person for Tashlich outdoors at Lake Temescal on second day, Wednesday September 8.
Our success going forward depends on your help. Please invest in our future by donating as generously as you can.
With gratitude for our many blessings, and wishes for a sweet, healthy and safe New Year.
L’Shana Tova,
Jeffrey Kessler
Board President
