  • Emerge Gracefully – How do we enter a changed world with hope and clarity?
  • Forgive Generously – How do we move forward cultivating compassion and kindness?
  • Grow Courageously – How do we welcome the New Year infusing our lives with meaning and purpose?

Join us as we celebrate with services and ensemble music streamed live from the Chochmat HaLev sanctuary, which will give our prayer powerful wings to ascend. We will re-examine our traditional teachings and our individual capacities for returning and re-attuning our lives so that we can each do our part to bring about a world of justice, wholeness, safety, and respect.

Special Guests |  Melanie DeMore, Issa Baba, Jeffrey Kessler, and Laura Goldman

Yizkor: A gentle shift from grief to purpose as we heal together

Neilah: Finding courage through reflection and renewal

This is a time of challenging paradoxes and great possibilities. We know that our community is up to the challenge, and through that community connection, we can envision and enact what is possible.  Even as we shelter in place, keeping each other safe and healthy, creative engagement with our technology will allow us to come together to celebrate the New Year and journey through the traditional arc of the 10 Days of Awe to awaken our best selves in time for the Day of At-Onement, Yom Kippur.

Our Spiritual Leaders at Chochmat HaLev are crafting a safe and welcoming virtual space for all of us to enter. As always, we will support each other to engage in the inner work necessary for our continued individual growth, even as we face greater challenges this year.  Under the skillful guidance of Maggid Jhos, Julie, and Lior and esteemed guest teachers, we will explore anxieties, failings, and fears that have surfaced during this pandemic and cultural reckoning. We will seek reservoirs of strength, humility, and resilience – as individuals and as a sacred community.  In this way, we can more fully access our tradition’s prescriptions for this time: tefillah – prayer; teshuvah – return to an ethical, purposeful life; and tzedakah – righteous restorative work.
