Shaykh Issa Nessim Baba has been playing at Chochmat HaLev since he was a teenager. Now a leader of his own services, he brings his own gentle wisdom and deep teaching. A native of California, Issa spent ten years between there and Turkey as a young adult focusing on studying the rich tradition of Turkish Classical music, as well as learning Sufi music in the centuries-old Sufi lodges of Istanbul.
