Sophie is a queer Ashkenazi Jew, living on occupied Ohlone land, known as Oakland, California. After a decade of food justice and agricultural work throughout the greater Bay Area, Sophie is thrilled to be joining the Operations Team and Chochmat HaLev and is humbled to support such a warm and bright Jewish spiritual community.  Creativity and spiritual practice are core to Sophie’s identity, and she has most recently been studying and exploring the ceremonial use of sound healing modalities.  Drawing from the lineages of ancient and re-imagined Jewish ritual, the Dharma, plant medicine traditions, end-of-life care work and her beloved queer community Sophie believes deeply in the power of individual and collective healing,  and working towards the liberation of all beings.
