Kohenet Amanda Nube

To me, Avodah Shbalev, Service of the Heart, takes many forms and is integral to belonging to a vibrant caring community. Whether bringing soup to those in need, holding prayer or sharing and learning circles, or counseling 1-1 in times of need, to me service of the heart in community means there is a place for you, a place for you communally, a place for your heart and soul to belong, and a place where acts of kindness, actions of solidarity and menschkeit happen.

I am excited to collaborate with the Chochmat team in providing this service of the Heart, Spiritual Care, to the community. I have had a long and loving history with Chochmat Halev 2000-2017. I raised my daughter there until her Bat Mitzvah in 2017 and my son was given a baby naming ceremony on the Torah with Rabbi SaraLeya in 2010. I am currently completing my Masters degree in Jewish Studies at Academy of Jewish Religion, CA. I am excited to reconnect with the Chochmat community and share the fruits of my diverse Jewish journeys over the years, which include ordination as Kohenet by Rabbi Jill Hammer and Taya Shere in 2018.

Some of my interests include: prayer and ritual art, healing and rites of passage, Yoga/Mindfulness/Meditation. More info about my interests and experience as a somatic bodyworker and workshop facilitator over the past 20 years can be found on my website: https://healingmama.com/book/

I look forward to connecting with each one of you.
