Havdalah Dance Jam with Amy Segal
This is an evening that celebrates the kinetic spirit of Chochmat Halev with joyful movement and dancing.
Come reveal the ways in which we can use dance and movement as a lens to look at Torah and vice versa. It will unfold in 3 parts; first, a facilitated conversation based on a selected Jewish text. Then, Havdalah led by a member of the Chochmat community, followed by an hour of fun, easy-to-follow dancing led by Amie Segal and time for free dance.

Amie Segal is the founder of The Living Room, a Los Angeles based organization that hosts lively evenings of movement and dance that weave together Jewish ritual and thought. She created The Living Room to explore the idea of embodied Judaism—how a physical practice can deepen and enrich our connection to Jewish spirituality. Amie has led Jewish movement programming for various LA Jewish institutions including IKAR, East Side Jews, SIJCC, Open Temple, NuRoots and Nefesh. She recently moved to the Bay Area where she is excited to be starting a Jewish Movement Collective. She is also a practicing Physical Therapist. Her writing on movement and Judaism has been published in The Forward and the Jewish Journal.
