Join us as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Jewish encounter with the Dalai Lama chronicled in The Jew in the Lotus. This classic is recognized as an important work by thousands of Jews who have been drawn to Buddhism. Its profound impact has proven that Jewish identity is not compromised by Buddhism but, rather, deeply enriched by it.
We invite you to participate in a fascinating conversation with Jews, Buddhists and leading-edge thinkers about the past, present and future of this Jewish-Buddhist coherence. The event’s featured guest is Rodger Kamenetz, author of The Jew in the Lotus. Others joining the conversation include Emily Sigalow, author of American JewBu, Jay Michaelson, author of Enlightenment by Trial and Error, and Rabbi Ira Stone, author of In Search of the Holy Life.
This event is presented by Coastside Jewish Community and co-sponsored by Chochmat HaLev.
