Join Lior Tsarfaty and special guests Melanie DeMore and Jami Sieber for a special High Holy Day Heartsongs focusing on the power and intention of prayer.
Chanting in community is an ancient path to healing and expansion. We’ll learn and chant sacred Jewish prayers: prayers for healing, prayers for peace, devotional chants, and prayers that evoke joy and celebration. Bring your voice, fill your heart, lift your spirit!
Lior Tsarfaty is Chochmat’s musical director as well as an internationally touring musician and recording artist. He uniquely weaves music and various healing modalities to create transformative experiences for his audience and clients. He does musical peace work with Muslims and Jews and offers mindfulness and chanting workshops in the Bay Area, Israel, and China. Lior is the founder of Village Song, a school and a movement that brings the power of music to Alzheimer’s communities. His groundbreaking work is featured in the film There Is A Place.
Melanie DeMore is a founding member of the Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir, and she has shared the stage with some of the world’s most notable musicians and political activists from Gloria Steinem, Odetta, Pete Seeger, and Judy Collins to Ed Asner, Holly Near, Ronnie Gilbert, and Ani Di Franco.
Electric cellist and vocalist Jami Sieber reaches inside the soul with compositions that are contemporary, timeless, lush, and powerfully evocative. Jami’s music moves beyond the surface, seeking and re-seeking her truth by creating musical bridges and connections, committed to doing what moves her and inspiring listeners with her honesty, musical prowess, and humanity.
