Finding the Light Workshop

During these challenging times, let’s find the “light” while acknowledging the darkness. By using the creative arts (writing, music, movement, art) we will explore all the emotions. We will practice stillness and witnessing, and draw inspiration from Judaism. No previous art or movement necessary. Bring a journal, art pad– whatever inspires you. We will have a chance to practice different artistic modalities, witness each other without judgment, listen to our bodies and each other, and just be together. All art supplies will be provided.

Sliding Scale – $10-50

About Judy Goodman:
Judy Goodman is an interdisciplinary artist. She has an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, and a masters degree in theater education. She currently is a tenured faculty at CCSF, where she teaches a range of arts through the DSPS department (for students with disabilities). She has directed plays, painted paintings, sculpted in a variety of mediums, danced, and created multi generational and interdisciplinary projects with a range of communities. These days Judy is busy with her family (husband Matt, and three boys ages 11, 10 and almost 6), but excited to explore artmaking with the Chochmat Halev community. Judy was inspired to offer this workshop at a recent Friday night Shabbat service. She is excited to spend time as we witness, share, and support each other through creative expression.
