Chevra Kadisha: End of Life Advanced Care Planning Series

We are proud to inform you that Chochmat HaLev has an active Chevra Kadisha (Holy Jewish burial society). This group is sponsoring a 5 session workshop series on End of Life planning for our community starting in March. Each session will cover a different topic, including Advanced Care Directives, Spiritual Decision Making, writing your ethical will, discounts available to CHL members for burial, and more.
 
The first class will describe the:
  1. Role of Chochmat HaLev’s Chevra Kadisha. 
  2. Options for the last stage of the Jewish Life Cycle.
  3. Chevra Kadisha Personal Information Form.
  4. Series of Chevra Kadisha classes for the last stage of the Jewish Life Cycle.
**This event is free, and ONLY available to CHL Members** 
Please know: You don’t have to leave your Jewish community to realize your end-of-life wishes.
 

 

COVID Protocols
For indoor events with more than 30 attendees, Chochmat HaLev requires masking which covers both your nose and mouth. N95, KN95, and double surgical are acceptable. Cloth masks of any kind are not acceptable.

CHL will provide passive ventilation (e.g. open windows and doors under the supervision of security-trained personnel) and other equipment as available.

CHL will include specific guidelines for those attending in person events on our website and in announcements regarding events.

DO NOT attend an event at CHL:
– if you are experiencing any potential symptoms of COVID-19 or other illness
– if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days and have not had a negative antigen test on Day 6 or later
– if you have had a known exposure to COVID-19 in the past 3-5 days
– if a household member has tested positive in the last 10 days and has not had a negative test on Day 6 or later
