Anti-racism Mitzvah Project (AMP) Launch Event

Antiracism Mitzvah Project – AMP
Special Launch Event with Kate Schatz!

Wednesday, May 3rd at 7:00 pm
In-person at CHL

Chochmat Halev is launching a racial justice affinity group called The Antiracism Mitzvah Project – AMP! Anyone who is part of the Chochmat Halev community is welcome to join us as we come together to learn about the history of racism in this country, increase our self-awareness, and to take meaningful actions toward racial justice.

We will begin by working together with the book “Do The Work! An Antiracist Activity Book”, W. Kamau Bell and Kate Schatz. This book is a fun and accessible way to make progress on being an antiracist. We’ll also incorporate relevant Jewish teachings and somatic practice.

The group will launch this effort on Wednesday 5/3 from 7:00-9:00pm at Chochmat Halev (in-person only) with special guest and book co-author Kate Schatz! We will continue meeting on the first Wednesdays of the month. Please get the book and join us!

Note: Here are two options for purchasing the book:

  1. https://www.marcusbooks.com/ Marcus Books in Oakland, our local independent Black owned bookstore. Buying books here supports their mission and is an act of solidarity.
  2. We will have a book table at the launch where Kate will sell the book at wholesale rates.

This event will be free to attend, but we request a generous donation (suggested $18-$72) to be split between Chochmat HaLev and Kate Schatz.
