OFF-SITE EVENT: Among Neighbors Film Screening + Q&A with Rabbi Zvika Krieger
Chochmat Halev is excited to co-present the award-winning documentary feature AMONG NEIGHBORS on Feb 26 at 6:00 PM at Rialto Cinemas Cerrito. The film will be followed by an in-person Q&A with filmmaker Yoav Potash, moderated by Rabbi Zvika Krieger.
In AMONG NEIGHBORS, hand-drawn animation brings the past to life as an eyewitness to murder and a Holocaust survivor reveal their nation’s darkest secret. Produced and directed by filmmaker Yoav Potash (Crime After Crime, Sundance Film Festival) and Executive Produced by Anita Friedman (JFCS, The Koret Foundation) AMONG NEIGHBORS is an evocative and heart-pounding murder mystery with urgent political relevance.
The film has won 11 awards to date – and has rocked the political establishment in Poland. As has been reported by The San Francisco Chronicle, the office of the Polish president is attempting to ban the film. In response, the AMONG NEIGHBORS team has brought the film to more theaters, film festivals, and other venues worldwide, and the filmmaker has stepped up his media appearances, including a recent segment on CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper.
This special event will celebrate local filmmaking, freedom of the press, and honest inquiry into a crucial chapter of Jewish history.
FILMMAKER YOAV POTASH IS AVAILABLE FOR MEDIA INTERVIEWS.
