(Only our first Fridays of the month will start early; this service will begin at the usual 7pm time)

Join Chochmat HaLev for a Kabbalat Shabbat (Welcoming Shabbat) service, a mystical tradition full of embodied prayer, soulful singing, ecstatic dancing, guided meditation, sharing of ancestral wisdom, and connection in intergenerational community. This service will be lead by Zvika Krieger and Lior Tsarfaty!

Service will start promptly at 7pm — please arrive a few minutes early to check in and be seated.

If you’re planning to attend in-person, please register in advance.

If you’re planning to attend via Zoom, the link is here: https://zoom.us/j/87810404956
(Our Zoom capacity is limited to 100 attendees; be sure to log on early!)

Before service

6pm – Family and Community Potluck in the courtyard!

During service

Childcare is available. Please register so we know you’re coming!

After service

Enjoy a delicious oneg and schmooze with our beloved community.

8:45pm – HeartSpace will meet in the courtyard.

This month’s HeartSpace is “Authentic Relating with a Jewish Spin.” Join GatherBay’s Caroline Kessler & Blair Lineham for some juicy, facilitated convos to help you drop in, connect, and get to know other folks beyond the usual schmoozing. No Jewish experience required, we’ll have open-ended prompts that touch on themes of Shabbat, Jewishness, and letting go. Outdoors in the courtyard, weather permitting.

Caroline Kessler is the Community Director of GatherBay, a local org that connects 20- and 30-somethings to Jewish life and to each other in the East Bay & beyond. Currently based in Berkeley, she’s also a writer, editor, and facilitator. She’s been bringing people together through writing, art, and spirituality for more than a decade.

Caroline is the co-founder of Ashreinu, a Jewish community in St. Louis; co-creator of The 18 Somethings project, a virtual writing adventure; and co-host of many Shabbat dinners, blessing circles, and other experiences that help people connect with each other & something greater than themselves.

Blair Lineham (he/him) is Gather‘s Networks Manager. He spent nearly a decade in the sales world before leaving to support individuals as a life and leadership coach, group facilitator, and mindfulness meditation teacher.

Blair founded the Authentic Relating community in his hometown of Rochester, NY and is a regular facilitator in the Bay Area– leading workshops to help people create deeper connections with themselves and others. At the core of Blair’s work lies a deep curiosity and drive to welcome people exactly as they are and create cultures of belonging.

Currently residing in Oakland, CA, Blair loves dancing, playing guitar, and bringing community together through song and movement.
