Ariel Hendelman is a Cantorial student with the Aleph Ordination Program. A singer, guitar player and music maker, Ariel is currently recording her first album — a soulful blend of niggunim and folky Americana, called Prayers for Fire & Water.

When not singing or studying, Ariel devotes much of her time to mindfulness practice, leading retreats and Hebrew chanting. She co-leads a monthly Rosh Chodesh circle for Or HaLev on Zoom with Mira Neshama Niculescu,  combining chanting with meditation and teachings centered around the energy of the month. Ariel is particularly interested in the intersection of plant medicine ceremony and Jewish ritual — something she hopes to continue to explore. A daughter of Massachusetts, Ariel lived for 8 years in Israel and now calls Philadelphia home.
