Urban Shtetl Program

Urban Shtetl weaves its educational program out of six main components devoted to children, youth, and families.

  1. Shabbat Programming
    • 2nd Saturday morning, 10:30am-12:15pm – Tot Shabbat for children 0-5, and Metivta Shabbat ages 5-11
    • 4th Friday evening, 6-7:30pm  Tot Shabbat
  2. Family Learning Days
    • Intergenerational holiday celebrations with storytelling, songs, activities, and food.
  3. Shabbat Havurot  community lead
    • Shabbat meals among families with children of similar ages
  4. Parent Circle  community lead
    • Spiritual wellness for parents and caregivers
  5. Tsofeem (3rd – 6th Grade)
    • Hebrew learning, community service, Parashat Theater, earth-based learning, and b’mitzvah prep
  6. B’Mitzvah Training
    • Learning activities to prepare youth for their b’mitzvah ceremony, and opportunities to hang out with their peers. (Additional fee)
  7. Teen Mentorship Circle
    • Continued Jewish learning for post-b’mitzvah students. Teens can join our teaching staff and learn mentorship skills.
