1. Urban Shtetl Family Programs on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
Participatory, art-filled high holy days for the whole family with master storyteller Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb and members of the Urban Shtetl community.
Rosh Hashanah Program Celebrates the Birthday of the World (Sept. 10): 10:45-12:30pm – Families and children are invited to join Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb and guests to bring in the New Year with a participatory Creation Pageant which will enter the main sanctuary just before the shofar blowing service. Dynamic hands on activities, big puppets, shofar blowing, Jewish New Year songs and dance. A truly joyous celebration for all ages.
Yom Kippur (Sept. 19): 11:30am-1:00pm — Join Rabbi Lynn and Urban Shtetl families for a participatory telling of the story of Jonah and reading from a 550 year old Torah. Forgive, renew, and enjoy Jewish community.

Join Jen Miriam, Alon Altman, Raizel the Camel and friends in an educational and spirited high holiday service for young children and their parents. The service will include, drums, guitars, dancing with scarves, puppets leading prayers, shofar blowing, and serious moments of introspection and revelry. Themes of the holiday will be addressed in a fun and engaging way.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
