Piyut for Harvest: Queers, Gazelles, and You

Wednesday, October 4, 2017 - 7:00pm Looking to make your harvest deep and lovely? Of course! Piyutim are love songs to the Divine, centuries old, featuring a polyphony of erotic relationships and fluidity of desire. These destabilizing devotionals create a surprisingly sweet space for diverse sexualities—perfect for dance clubs and your sukkah! Plus the tunes are amazing. In this workshop we will mostly sing, also listen, and look at text a little. This class is for ALL PEOPLE. You don’t need to be Jewish. You don’t need to have a nice voice. You don’t need to be queer. More about Jewlia Eisenberg here. CHL members - free General Public $10 Powered by Eventbrite
