VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR – TEMPORARY
Temporary volunteer coordinator for August-October 2014. Possible extension.
5-20 hours/ week August-September and 40 hours/week September 15-October 4. Possible extension at 5 hours/week.
Duties include: Recruit, train, orient and manage volunteers. Build a volunteer base for the High Holiday Services in September/October. Develop volunteer job descriptions. Schedule volunteers. Manage work exchange positions. Develop volunteer materials and recognition.
Requirements: Enthusiastic. Strong people skills. Good communications (written & oral). Good judge of character. Ability to multi-task. Detail oriented and organized. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Computer proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Google docs. Flexible hours, some evenings and weekends required. Familiarilty with Jewish practice a plus. Available 5-20 hours/ week August-Sept. and 40 hours/week September 15-Oct.4.
COMMUNICATIONS/PUBLICITY SPECIALIST – TEMPORARY
Chochmat Halev in Berkeley is looking for a savvy publicist to promote the launch of an exciting new program using traditional media as well as social marketing.
Requirements: Excellent communications (written & oral). Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Familiar with use of Facebook, Twitter and other social media as well as traditional media in local marketing campaigns. Comfortable with messaging and copy-writing appropriate to each medium. Familiarity with spiritual, meditation, and/or Jewish communities is desirable.
