Naomi Newman

Naomi Newman is a co-founder of A Traveling Jewish Theatre, where she worked as playwright, director and actress for 34 years, winning awards in each field. Before that she sang on the concert-stage, acted in television and had a psychotherapy practice.  She is currently performing, World On Fire, a poetry/music/theater piece about climate disruption.

For her contributions to the cultural life in the Bay Area Ms Newman has received a Tikkun Award, Mill Valley Creative Achievement Award, and Theatre Bay Area’s Community Leadership Award. A book containing an oral history of her life and career is part of the Legacy Collection of The San Francisco Performing Arts Museum.

Naomi will be teaching, reciting poetry, and telling a story about forgiveness and end of life.

James Baraz

James Baraz has been a meditation teacher since 1978. He leads retreats, workshops, and classes in the U.S and abroad. He is a co-founder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California and the co-author of the book Awakening Joy: Ten Steps to Happiness  as well as Awakening Joy for Kids. He has led the popular Awakening Joy online course taken by thousands since 2003. James is also an advisor to (One Earth Sangha) a website devoted to Buddhist responses to Climate Change.

James will be teaching and leading a guided meditation focused on compassion, belonging, and what home is for us.
