A two-hour immersive into the 30th Psalm
In 12 verses, Psalm 30 is a shout out of gratitude, telling us that “there are tears in the evening but joy will come with the dawn” and ”turn my mourning into dancing”. This Psalm is part of the daily liturgy, taking its place in the morning service just before D’Zimra, verses of joy. Tisha B’Av comes in the midst of summer, when we can’t help but notice the contrast of so much light in the world at the darkest anniversary of the destruction of the Temple. Our mourning is temporary; through prayer and gratitude oursorrow will transform into joy.
Join Susan Duhan Felix and Elizheva Hervich for a two hour immersive into the 30th Psalm, including reading the Hebrew and several translations. From this sacred text, they will guide you in an exercise to articulate personal connections and your own interpretation.
