Wednesday May 24, 2017 – 8:00-9:30pm
Location: Chochmat HaLev
Most of you know the power and beauty of Lior Tsarfaty’s music from our services and chanting classes, but you may not know about his work with Village Song, an organization that uses music to improve the lives of elder care patients.
Next Wednesday evening, you are invited to a screening of a documentary about Lior and his work with elders. There Is a Place, a documentary film by Tania Ku, explores Lior’s personal journey of discovering his gift of music as a young man and learning how to share this gift in all directions from that point on. Along the way, he uncovered an urgent need in the Alzheimer’s and elder care facilities for his combination of music and community to lessen the loneliness, confusion, and isolation that are common effects of aging. After the short film, you will have a chance to learn more about Village Song and their work with Alzheimer’s patients.
