The Idol (2015) is based on the true story of Mohammed Assaf, a young Palestinian singer from a Gaza refugee camp whose desire to help his sister drives him against all odds to compete and win on “Arab Idol” one of the most watched TV events in the Mideast. His personal struggles and triumphs turn him into a singing sensation and a symbol of hope for millions in Gaza, Israel, and worldwide.
A facilitated discussion will follow the screening.
