Jewish Values and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict with Rabbi SaraLeya

A Course of the Chochmat HaLev Israel Palestine Program

8 Mondays, November 7, December 12, Jan. 23, Feb.27, March 6, March 20, April 3 – 7-8:30pm
Location: Chochmat HaLev

iEngage, a project of the Shalom Hartman Institute, is a study program which will help us explore the ideas and values that animate our attitudes toward the Israel-Palestine conflict.

We will study text, watch lectures and respectully share our reflectons.
Our goal is to introduce complexity and subtlety into our discourse, speaking open‐heartedly, even with those who advocate positons with which we disagree, recognizing that good, intelligent, informed people can confront the same set of facts and reach different conclusions.

We invite you to open your ears and your hearts, and to delve deeply and engage with the ideas and values which underpin the conflict. By refocusing our conversaton around the values which at the foundatons of Israel’s policies, we reopen the door for a renewed engagement with Israel, even if some of us disagree with some of its policies and positons.

Workshop Dates: Nov. 7, Dec. 12, Jan. 9, Jan. 23, Feb. 27, Mar. 6, Mar. 20 and April 3. Attendance at all sessions encouraged to build a community of safe-sharing.

We gratefully thank the Koret Foundation for making iEngage materials available to Chochmat HaLev.
