Shmirat haLashon: Mindful Speech Intensive with Rabbi Dorothy Richman

Sundays: October 28. November 4 & 11, 2018 – 6:30pm-8:30pm

Gossip, slander, rumor spreading, teasing, shaming, lying— there are so many ways to speak that amplify our own and other’s suffering. This three-week community of practice and learning, will use chanting, meditation, Jewish text, and chevruta to bring attention and intentionality to our habits of speech. We will be using excerpts from the Chafetz Chayim’s (1839-1933) classic work: Sefer Shemirat haLashon (the Book of Observing Speech) as our central text.

Sponsored by Makor Or : Jewish Meditation Center and Chochmat haLev

Not a drop-in class. Participants commit to working with a hevruta partner and to a personal meditation practice during the entire 3 week period of the Intensive.
Members: $75
General Public: $90
