Sundays August 12 and 26, and September 2, Thursdays, September 13, 20, 27 – 6:30pm-8:30pm
What is my purpose? Can I really change?
Are there tools in Judaism to help me answer these questions?
Guided by Rabbi Dorothy Richman, the High Holy Day Intensive will explore spiritual practice, Torah, contemporary writings (including Rabbi Alan Lew’s This is Real and You are Completely Unprepared), and our own knowing as we deepen our commitment to personal transformation and prepare for the High Holy day season.
Sponsored by Makor Or, Chochmat haLev and the JCC East Bay
The Intensive consists of weekly meetings that include chanting, meditation, learning and discussion. Participants commit to working with a chevruta partner and to a personal meditation practice during the period of the Intensive.
Participants are encouraged to attend the day long silent retreat held at the JCCSF, led by Rabbi Dorothy Richman and Norman Fischer on Sunday August 19th. (separate registration)
Those who register for the entire program will be invited to schedule an individual interview with Rabbi Richman during the practice period. There is an option to participate for the month of Elul only.

The month of Elul is a time for preparation for the High Holy Days, a time to begin the process of teshuva, or returning. During this month, we traditionally spend time in self-reflection and consideration of where we have been and where we are heading. We can start our inner work through a variety of offerings by the wonderful spiritual teachers in our community. See other offerings here.
