YOUR MOVING CENTER
Are we getting ahead of ourselves? Lagging behind? Feeling distracted? As we move through a variety of qigong standing and walking exercises, we will practice feeling our centers.
Raising awareness of your moving center improves physical and mental balance, and invites calmness, alertness, and presence of mind.
Molly Barker has trained in Qigong and body mechanics with Chris Fernie, founder of the Institute for Internal Transformation, since 2008. She has studied body alignment, mindfulness, and healthy movement, independently and with many teachers, since 2003. Molly is also completing her teacher certification in Peter Wayne’s Eight Active Ingredients of Tai Chi. From her many years as a practicing and teaching artist, she brings to Qigong a playful and searching mind.
Qigong (chi gung) is a set of movement and meditation practices originating in China. It integrates awareness of body, breath, and mind to restore health and wholeness.
