A dynamic meditation, Qigong uses attention, alignment, and tried-and-true postures and exercises to cultivate wholeness and health. Improve your balance, resilience and stability. Increase your capacities for liveliness, creativity, and sense of connection. Find a relaxed strength in your body, and wake up your natural capacities for healing. In this fun and approachable class, learn Qigong movements and walking forms while exploring fundamental principles: grounding, whole-body movement, relaxed breathing, and a friendly, focused awareness.
Molly Barker has trained with Chris Fernie, founder of the Institute for Internal Transformation in Berkeley, California since 2008. She has studied body alignment and healthy movement, independently and with many teachers, since 2003. She is currently completing her teacher training in the Eight Active Ingredients of Tai Chi with Peter Wayne, author of The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi. From her many years as a practicing and teaching artist, she brings to Qigong a playful and searching mind.
