Mystical Nothingness—the path to Wholeness.
A day-long meditation retreat with Norman Fischer, Maggid Jhos Singer, Julie Batz and Lior Tsarfaty.
All mystical traditions focus on what is simply called “Nothingness,” a reality beyond the appearances of this world. Judaism calls this state “Ayin,” based in the idea that we cannot say what God is, but we can say what God is not. In this retreat we will explore “Ayin” with meditation, silent sitting, chanting, text study and dialogue as a way to embrace our own mysteries—the unknowable parts of our psyches, souls, futures, and capacity. To fully accept the no-thingness of reality is to come closer to the whole in our own lives, bring us closer to peace, strength, compassion and spiritual health.
Take advantage of this day long opportunity to study, practice and learn with the gifted, compelling, and revered teacher, poet, Zen Priest and founder of Makor Or Center for Jewish meditation, Zoketsu Norman Fischer. He will be joined by our congregational leaders Maggid Jhos Singer and Julie Batz, and musician Lior Tsarfaty.
