A Pop-Up Chorus for Summer with Jewlia Eisenberg

Wednesdays, May 30, June 6, 13 and 15,  7:00-9:00pm & Friday June 15 Shabbat Service

Activate the early summer sonically!  Offer your voice to the community and harvest connective joy. Sing Eastern European niggunim, North African piyyutim, Sephardi love songs and American psalmody.

We will present and participate in the Chochmat HaLev Kabbalat Shabbat Service on June 15.

All words transliterated. All voices welcome. And bring your friends—this chorus only exists if enough people are interested.

Jewlia Eisenberg works at the intersection of voice, text and diaspora consciousness, mostly as the leader of the ensemble Charming Hostess.  Jewlia’s work has been curated into the Contemporary Jewish Museum in SF and the Museum of Peace in Uzbekistan; she performs regularly in Europe and the Americas. She has been a visiting artist at CalArts, MIT, and the University of Colorado, where she has taught on the boundary lands holding music and critical theory.
