We are excited that our multi-faceted Chochmat haLev project called Chochmat Counts has begun! Chochmat Counts is taking place during the Counting of the Omer, which runs from March 31 to May 19, 2018. This is a project of spiritual practice combined with a practice of supporting and financially sustaining our community. You can participate — and join the count — at any time!
Counting the Omer is a mindfulness practice of counting the 49 days between the 2nd day of Passover to Shavuot. It involves saying a blessing and reciting the count of the days. It is a time of personal growth and self-reflection. Whether you count the Omer every year, or have never done it and don’t know how, you are welcome. We want to engage our whole community. YOU COUNT!
Chochmat Counts: The Omer Project will also be a time of engaging and investing in our community. We all need each other and we need to make sure our little shul survives as an institution and is sustainable so that it is there for us. WE’RE COUNTING ON YOU!
This project will be centered around a series of Tuesday night programs by different teachers in our community. Class schedule here. Save these TUESDAY nights: April 3, 10, 17, 24, and May 1, 8 and 15.
To help you count the Omer, we have many resources for your practice. These include how to recite the blessing, an Omer calendar, suggestions for other Omer practices,Omer cards, and a Facebook page for the community to share their experience.
Chochmat Counts is also about supporting our community financially. Donating is a big part of our spiritual practice, not something separate. We hope you will think about how Chochmat Counts for you and then donate as generously as you can. THANK YOU to all those who have contributed so generously to the Chochmat Counts Campaign. Everyone Counts as we join together in the spiritual practice of counting the Omer and investing in our community.
