SUMMARY:Drawing on Forgiveness
DESCRIPTION:\nImprov Sketching with Meg Adler (she/they)Cosponsored by Camp TawongaSunday, September 20 @ 7:30pm PDT$9 Chochmat Members & Tawonga Community Members$18 General PublicOr pay what you can, because we really want you to join us!\n \n \n Buy Tickets\n \n \nDuring the Days of Awe, we’re asked to look back on our actions of the past year, consider where we missed the mark, and ask forgiveness from those we have hurt. But what about forgiving ourselves? How can we release ourselves from what Audre Lorde calls the “paralysis of guilt” to clear our path and start again in the new year, energized and ready to meet the urgent work that we are called to?\n\n\nDrawing can be a practice of self-forgiveness — a practice through which we accept mistakes as a part of any process and move through them creatively. In this workshop, we will be learning what Meg calls “improv sketching.” “Improv sketching” means that we keep going even when things don’t go according to plan— it is a posture of looking at our work and ourselves with compassion and creativity.\n\n\nAbout Meg AdlerIn addition to holding an M.A. in Religion from the Yale School of Divinity, Meg is the founder of Letters, Aligned, an organization with a mission to “Inspire awe & imagination, embrace imperfection, and connect people through collaborative art and supporting local business”. Meg is a self-taught artist and draws inspiration from her grandmother’s calligraphy.\n
