THE OPEN-FAITH SALON: Moving from Judgment to Compassion

Sunday September 10, 2017 - 7:00-9:00pm You shall love your neighbor as you love yourself.  Compassion is not just one of the highest forms of human relationships; it is considered a Divine virtue, held sacred by every world religion.  When we practice compassion we acknowledge that the ties that bind us to each other through our shared humanity are stronger than the differences that separate us. Speakers: Rabbi Dorothy Richman, Jewish and Buddhist Laura Magnani, Society of Friends (Quaker) Ameena Jandali, Muslim Moderated by Estelle Frankel Like the European-inspired salons of yore, this will be an evening of shared stories and practices, spiritual edification and dialogue involving leaders and members of different faith communities. This gathering is our special way of marking the anniversary of 9-11. $5-20 recommended donation (no one turned away for lack of funds)The Open-Faith Salon is dedicated to the memory and legacy of Sheikh Ibrahim Baba Farajaje whose work to build bridges between different faith communities remains an inspiration to all who seek…
