Everday Holiness: the Jewish Spiritual Path of Mussar

Friday night: It’s on! 55+ members will join together for davening led by Rabbi Creditor (5:30) and Shabbat Dinner (6:30). During dinner Marilyn Paul, a devoted student of Rabbi Jaffe, will share an introduction to Mussar and its meaning in a modern Jewish life. Deadline for RSVP’s is this afternoon. RSVP with Amy in the office by e-mailing ra@netivotshalom.org. $15 charge per person.

Shabbat Morning: As part of Shabbat davening (begins at 9:30), Rabbi Creditor will offer a special Drasha (approx 11:20), reflecting on the #RaisingTorah campaign of learning, doing justice, and commissioning a new Torah, after last Shabbat’s experience of a Torah falling. After Kiddush (approx 1:15), Rabbi Creditor will also offer a special learning session, entitled “The Hidden Hand of God: Encountering Sacred Calling as Post-Modern Jews.”

Saturday Night, 6:30pm: Thanks to Jewish Studio Project, Urban Adamah, Bend the Arc, and Chochmat haLev for cosponsoring our Saturday night event, featuring a mini-concert with our own Rabbi Creditor, and a public lecture with Rabbi Alan Morinis, founder and dean of The Mussar Institute! Rabbi Morinis will present on “Everyday Holiness: The Jewish Spiritual Path of Mussar.”
